DIEGO MARTINEZ

CEO and Founder

Dr. Martinez’s Journey in science and technology began at a young age, tinkering with early home computers such as the Commodore Amiga, and taking part in his hometown’s Commodore Users Group that his father was president of. The interest in science and technology became a reality when as an undergraduate he became an assistant in the Neurospora Genomics Project in 1998, a cutting edge whole genome project. Here he grew to love bioinformatics, almost simultaneous with the term’s inception. This is a unique field combining data, biology, genetics, evolution, robotic technologies, and was the perfect fit for one who was interested in many diverse fields.

This led him to the California coast, and three years working in the Human Genome Project at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and three more years in biofuels research at Los Alamos National Laboratories. Throughout his career he has published more than 20 articles, numerous opinions and text book chapters, garnering more than 9000 citations and growing.

Now, he has turned his impressive breadth skill set toward merging digital and physical worlds, with the intent to bring data to life. This merger of realms will be used to create phone attachments to help people with disabilities, to improve health outcomes, and reduce accidents.
